Eight Digits

Privacy, in plain language.

Last updated: 2 October 2026. This policy describes the current Eight Digits iPhone app, developed by Business Innovations Australia.

Your journal stays on your device

Session codes, dates, notes, descriptors, sketches, attached page-image copies and reflections are stored locally in the app. No account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or developer-operated app backend is used. We do not receive your journal contents through the app.

Camera and selected photographs

Camera access is optional and requested when you choose to photograph a page. The system photo picker gives access to the images you select, rather than scanning your library. Imported copies are stored with your journal. Apple may retrieve a selected image from your cloud photo library according to your settings.

Purchases and Apple services

Apple handles payments and purchase restoration. The app uses StoreKit to retrieve products and verify access to purchased photo packs. These operations may communicate with Apple; we do not receive your payment-card details or journal entries. Photos in the starter collection and optional pack are bundled in the app rather than downloaded from our server.

Apple separately handles App Store or TestFlight distribution, diagnostics and feedback under its own terms and your settings.

Optional source links

Reading links open third-party websites in an in-app Safari reader. These sites receive normal web requests and apply their own privacy practices. Closing the reader returns you to Eight Digits.

Retention, backups and deletion

Your records stay in local app storage. Device backups may contain them under your Apple settings. The current version has no individual-session deletion control. Deleting the app removes its local data; offloading is not deletion, and backups may retain copies. Do not uninstall as a routine troubleshooting step. We cannot recover a journal stored only on your device.

Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your address and the information you choose to send. We use that correspondence to respond and investigate the issue. Please avoid sending private journal contents unless necessary. For privacy questions or requests concerning support correspondence, email support@businessinnovationsaustralia.io.
